Wire Pilot 3.1 is the latest version of this shareware program for Windows. Wire Pilot is a useful photo editor for removing wires from our digital photos. We can get rid of cable car installations, antennas, lamp poles, posts, electricity and phone wires, and any other obstacle we find in our way. On startup, we can view seven excellent demonstration videos showing what this software can do for us. Next, we can select an image for editing from anywhere within our computer or import pictures from a digital camera, scanner, etc.
The program lets us zoom in/zoom out, resize, rotate and flip, crop, adjust brightness and contrast, undo brush, apply smart path and wire eraser. When finished, it is possible to save the enhanced image. There is an evaluation version that we can download directly from the developer's website and try free of charge. The trial demo has one limitation: it allows us to save the image only in a special PTI format. It runs under Windows XP, and Vista operating systems. We can use this program on its own or as an Adobe Photoshop plug-in.
